GNU/Linux workshop for Hardware Vendors - Malappuram

SPACE-Kerala in association with the All Kerala IT Dealers Association (AKITDA) Malapurram organised a two day workshop on GNU/Linux. The workshop was aimed at enabling participating organizations to start providing better services in the emerging market of GNU/Linux Operating Systems. The event was conducted on September 11th Sunday and September 12th Monday at the Hotel Grace Residency, Malapurram. The workshop was attended by around 20 Hardware Vendors and their representatives from Malapurram. Majority of them were new comers to GNU/Linux.

New Chairman for SPACE

Dr K R Srivatsan took over as the new chairman of SPACE. Dr Srivatsan is the Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management - Kerala (see www.iiitmk.ac.in), since Dec. 2000. He is also Professor and former Head of the Electrical Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Technology -Kanpur.
