As part of SPACE's continued efforts to build technical support for GNU/Linux in Kerala, a workshop was organised in Malappuram district on 12 March 2011. 30 hardware vendors participated in the workshop. They were introduced to desktop features and networking in GNU/Linux. The workshop also provided installation and trouble shooting tips to the vendors. The workshop was organised in partnership with the All Kerala IT Dealers Association (AKITDA)

SPACE conducted a two day workshop on ICT and New Media for NGOs on 29-30 October 2010 at Thiruvananthapuram. The workshop was organised with the cooperation of KAVAL, a network of NGOs in Kerala. Members from 12 organisations participated in the workshop.
 

EdICT2010, an international conference on enabling access to education through ICT is being held at New Delhi from 27 to 29 October, 2010 by Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) in cooperation with the Global Initiative for Inclusive ICT (G3ICT), a flagship advocacy organization of the UN Global Alliance on ICT and Development (UN-GAID), the International telecommunications Union (ITU), Digital Empowerment Foundation, SPACE and the Deafway Foundation.

A booklet which gives an overview of free software applications and tools has been published by SPACE. Both English and Malayalam versions of the booklet are available for download on our website.

SPACE published a report of its study conducted among students of arts and science colleges in kerala to assess their access to ICT. The study conducted among 200 students, has identified a large gender disparity in ICT use, despite high computer literacy among students. The socio-cultural ethos of Kerala makes Internet out of bounds for girls, unless they are from high income groups who can afford connectivity at home. Although Internet cafes have proliferated the landscape of Kerala, these largely remain male domains.
