Education freedom day

SPACE and the free software community in the city organized public exhibition on free software and free knowledge on Education Freedom Day- 18th January 2014 at the bandstand of Napier Museum, Thiruvananthapuram.The exhibition showcased various free software and free hardware for education and privacy protection.

A team of SPACE's summer-camp children and volunteers from different colleges managed the stall and presented various ideas. Among them demonstration of Robot using open hardware and tweet plant which posts an alert message on twitter when it is thirsty was the main attraction of the event. People from mixed age groups came to watch the exhibition. A gaming zone out there was tried out by most of the visitors. They were very curious to know about the idea behind each and every technologies exhibited.

Various free software groups like Fedora, Womoz, SMC, RoboCET, Beginow, HackerSpace etc also participated in the event and presented their free knowledge initiatives. The former members of SPACE also joined the event and made it great and successful.
