The International Conference on Freedom in Computing, Culture and Development organised by the Government of Kerala along with SPACE during December 9-11, 2008 was covered by various media in Kerala.
The Hindu published a story on the Conference as early as August 2, 2008. On December 4, 2008, a story titled "Software Sans Borders" that traces the evolution of free software movement appeared in its Metroplus edition.
The inauguration of the conference website was covered by the Indian Express. "Gudalur Just Changes to Free Software" published on December 10, 2008 in the Indian Express narrates how the organisation Just Change in Gudalur was attracted to Free Software. Just Change works on behalf of adivasis of Gudular to protect their right to own land and secure a living off their land. Read the story here.
"Video Programmes for Fisherfolk" which appeared in the Indian Express on December 10, 2008 is about a group of young people from Vizhinjam who are using Free Software tools to produce videos for local telecast.
