E-content development program at Teachers Training College

 From February 25th to March 3rd 2016, an e-content development program was conducted at Teachers Training College, in which 30 participants were trained in the development and editing of multimedia content. They were taught to use image, audio and video editing tools (Gimp, Audacity and Kdenlive respectively), after which participants created their own video.

SPACE and the free software community organized a public exhibition on free software and free knowledge on Education Freedom Day on18th January 2014 at the bandstand of Napier Museum, Thiruvananthapuram. The exhibition showcased various free software and free hardware for education and privacy protection. Demonstration of robots using open hardware and tweet plant, which posts an alert message on twitter when it is thirsty formed part of the attraction of the event. A free software gaming zone was also set up. The stars of the event were the young boys and girls from SPACE summer camps, who explained the technology to the visitors, young and old alike.

Richard Stallman in Thiruvananthapuram

Richard Stallman will speak on “A Free Digital Society” in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on 16 January 2014 at 11.30 am. The venue is Mascot Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram.
His lecture is being organised by Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) and Society for Promotion of Alternate Computing and Employment (SPACE). Stallman's lecture will mark the completion of 10 years of work by SPACE.
