English Language and Soft Skills Development workshop ends

June 5, 2009:"Most of us had little confidence or ability before we joined the workshop. Now we have the confidence to speak in English", said Nabeel about his and others' experience at the 60 day long workshop on English Communication and Soft Skills Development, organised by Insight. There was no hesitancy in his voice. His language said it all.

Applauding him were 13 other visually challenged persons who had been part of the workshop. The occasion was the valedictory session of the workshop at Press Club Hall, Thiruvananthapuram.

SPACE conducts GEM workshop

The Gender Evaluation Methodology workshop organised by SPACE in colloboration with APC WNSP and with the support of Kerala State IT Mission and SOMA concluded on 30 April 2009. The workshop was attended by researchers, trainers and representatives of women's organisations in Kerala. Soft skills development programme begins at Insight

12 March 2009: A sixty-day soft skills development and English language communication course begins at Insight today. Insight has been addressing the ICT skill development needs of the visually challenged in Kerala since May 2007. Ila demonstration at Kozhikode

25 January 2009: A demonstration workshop on ila was held at Media Study Center, Kozhikode. The workshop included sessions on 'Introduction to new media' by Dr. Mahesh Mangalat (Lecturer in Malayalam, Mahatma Gandhi Government Arts College, Mahe), 'Role and relevance of Ila' by Chinju and Indu (SPACE), 'Blog and citizen journalism' by Prinson (SPACE). Dr.Mahesh Mangalat also explained how to type in Malayalam. This was followed by a question and answer session. Media students and representatives of little magazines in Malappuram attended the workshop.
