GEM workshop postponed to April 27-30, 2009

Soft skills development programme begins at Insight

12 March 2009: A sixty-day soft skills development and English language communication course begins at Insight today. Insight has been addressing the ICT skill development needs of the visually challenged in Kerala since May 2007. Ila demonstration at Kozhikode

25 January 2009: A demonstration workshop on ila was held at Media Study Center, Kozhikode. The workshop included sessions on 'Introduction to new media' by Dr. Mahesh Mangalat (Lecturer in Malayalam, Mahatma Gandhi Government Arts College, Mahe), 'Role and relevance of Ila' by Chinju and Indu (SPACE), 'Blog and citizen journalism' by Prinson (SPACE).

Making waves with Radio Alakal

Radio Alakal is the community radio of Vizhinjam, a fishing village in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Alakal, in Malayalam means waves. Radio Alakal made waves, not just within the village and but also within SPACE, our organisation.

GEM workshop in April 2009

SPACE will organise a workshop on Gender Evaluation Methodology from April 6-9, 2009 in Thiruvananthapuram.

Gender Evaluation Methodology or GEM as referred to by practitioners was developed by Association for Progressive Communications Women's Networking Support Programme (APC WNSP) to integrate gender analysis into the evaluations of Information and Communication technology (ICT) initiatives. GEM is guided by a framework that looks into whether ICTs create or maintain social change.
